Basically I made time to watch this even if I have thesis to worry about because of the following things: First of all, Christian Bale is soo hot. Daayumm.Second, the Joker is a psychotic s.o.b. and I love it. The nurse outfit was classic. And lastly, OMG CILLIAN MURPHY!!!! I don't read spoilers or whatever so I was fantastically surprised when Cillian Murphy was in the screen for like 5 seconds.
I really really really love how they transformed/matured the characters. Amazing.

My sister owns a lot of classic books and I tried reading a few novels to cure my boredom during my OJT. I chose Wuthering Heights because I had just finished reading the MTV book, Wuthering High by Cara Lockwood, and decided that I am in love with Heathcliffe. From Wuthering High. The book really got me interested in the novel by Emily Bronte and after reading it (I finished it, omg), I was pleasantly pleased to find out that my sister bought the movie a few years ago.
I loved the book. However, I didn't like that movie that much. It's the same feeling I get when I've read the book before the movie. Besides, it didn't cover the entire movie. However, Laurence Olivier was hot. He really fit the description of a brooding, mysterious gypsy with a hardened heart. He's too old to be playing young Heathcliffe but whatever floats their boat in the 30s is fine with me. And Merle Oberon looked old. Although she did remind me of Jennifer Ehle in Pride and Prejudice.
I think I need to watch the film again because I keep looking at Sir Laurence Olivier and no one else.

I have never heard of this movie before watching The History Boys. Which is kinda sad if you think about it. Critics revere this as one of the best romance/drama movies (it's also in my 501 Must See Movies) and I never really knew about it until Posner and Scripps renacted the ending.
The story is really simple but the effect on you is unbelievable. What if you're completely contented with your life but somehow, you meet a person who you thinkfeelknow connects with you like no one can? And it all began with the bit of dirty in her eye.
It was more like an emotional affair, although they did kiss. That kiss, by the way, took my breath away. Literally. But it was more like "*gasp* OHNOOOOO!" than "*gasp* aw so sweet!" According to the people who edit the Wikipedia page of the film, the play is more upfront with the implication that they consummated the affair. I think they already did, though.
The kiss, the trysts. Guilty!! In the end, she did come back to her husband and children. Because of the "affair", she was beginning to lose touch with herself and her children.
All in all it was a good film and I'm glad I had the chance to watch it. And I'll probably watch it again after watching The History Boys for nth time. I liked Now, Voyager better though. Hehe.

The only reason why I watched this strange and violent movie is because of Christian Bale. He has become my fangirl crush of the moment. While it's true I found him really cute in Little Women (oh and Samantha Manthis being in this movie was also cute, even if I still think Jo and Laurie are MFEO), I didn't find him as hot as he is until watching this movie. And Batman Begins.
What's great about this movie is the perfection of his acting. He was really convincing as Patrick Bateman, the vain and psychotic 80s music lover who is prone to having massive hissy fits that result into murdering people. In his mind. Or not. I like the twist. I hated the gore and violence but I shouldn't factor that in since I was the one who chose to watch the film. But I loved the comedy in the movie. It was perfect.
The chainsaw, bloody-and-naked-but-still-hot scene was the most terrifying and disgusting scene in the entire movie. And although hacking Jared Leto to death was scary as hell, it came off very funny thanks to the cheesy music and Patrick Bateman's procedure when going for the kill.
Christian Bale making kissy faces in the mirror was priceless. And he's really hot. I can't wait for The Dark Knight... and Public Enemies! Weird movie, but very good. Thrilling until the end!
